Dr. Hala Morris Georges is a designer, educator and researcher. She holds a Ph.D. in Creative Arts from the University of Brighton and a Master’s in Graphic Design from the University for the Creative Arts in the UK.

Her contributions to the field are reflected in her publications in esteemed journals such as The International Journal of Education Through Art. She has also served on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Literature and Arts and has been a Fellow at the British Higher Education Academy since 2018.

Dr. Georges’ artistic work has been showcased internationally in countries including the USA, Spain, Portugal, Germany, UK, Italy, Greece, Canada, Japan, UAE among others. Since 2007, she has been teaching at leading universities across Europe, the UK, and the Middle East, holding academic leadership positions at SintLucas College in the Netherlands and the University of Northampton in the UK. Her dedication to mentorship is evident in her students’ successes, with several earning prestigious awards, including top honors at the International Creative Conscience Awards in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Currently working as an Assistant Professor in Media & Visual Communication Design at the University

of Wollongong in Dubai, in which she teaches on both the BA and the MA of Media Design programs.

Dr. Georges is also the founder of the @Arabic_graphicdesign platform, which explores and reflects contemporary trends in Arabic design and culture. Her recent projects emphasize

the intersection of Arabic typography and multilingual design, as exemplified

by her recent "Seoul Speaks Arabic" initiative in South Korea and her participation

in the 60th Venice Biennale. Her work continues to push the boundaries

of cultural dialogue through type and design
